Celebrate Your Achievements: Graduation Honors at Combs High School

Combs High School recognizes and celebrates the dedication and academic excellence of its students through various graduation honors. As you embark on your four-year journey with us, you'll have the opportunity to work towards several distinctions that highlight your hard work and achievements. These honors, proudly displayed during graduation ceremonies, include:

  • Cords: Worn around the neck, these colorful cords signify membership in specific honor societies, participation in certain academic programs, or exceptional performance in particular subject areas.

  • Stoles: Draped over the shoulders, stoles often represent significant academic achievements, leadership roles, or completion of specialized pathways within your studies.

  • Academic Diploma Seals: These embossed seals, affixed directly to your high school diploma, denote outstanding academic performance, such as graduating with a high GPA or completing a rigorous curriculum.

We encourage all students to explore the criteria for these honors and strive for excellence in their academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. Your commitment throughout your time at Combs High School can culminate in a truly distinguished graduation experience.

Academic Diploma Seals

The Arizona State Board of Education has approved two seals for social studies, one for world languages, and one for arts education. These seals recognize high school students that achieve proficiency in related course work and complete additional examinations along with extracurricular tasks. Students are recognized with a seal on their diploma and a notation on their transcripts.
