Quinton Kendall, Class of 2023

I had always been interested in media and many aspects of the industry such as writing and photography, but I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school prior to taking CTE classes. I took CTE classes out of general interest for the subjects. After taking both Digital Communications and Photography, I knew that I wanted to work in the media industry.
The Combs campus served as a perfect environment for me to explore journalism, photography and other forms of media. The day to day activities on campus and in the district were amazing subjects to cover for the school newspaper, and all the events on campus were great practice for photography. Getting on the field access to football games as a photographer, or being included in STUCO events as a reporter were awesome opportunities for me to get involved on campus and develop the skills I'm still using today.
Currently I am a part time photographer/video editor on the ASU Knowledge Enterprise Strategic Communications and Marketing team. The experience from both of my CTE classes laid powerful groundwork for what I'm doing today. Almost everything I know about photography, basic design and communication was established in Digital Communications and Digital Photography. In fact the portfolio I had built up during high school was largely responsible for getting me the role I am in today. Additionally, I often do freelance work on the side, and still utilize connections that I made in my CTE classes for work.
