Lorelai Brislin, Class of 2025

When I first started my CTE class, I had no idea what I was going to do. I knew I was drawn to theater in the technical aspect. But I did not know it would spark a passion in me that I would carry for the next four years and eventually to the rest of my life. In my CTE classes I learned every possible skill in the field I wanted to enter.
It was constantly hands-on and engaging material. My teacher really inspired me to pursue my dream. That class and that teacher gave me the drive and motivation and inspiration I needed to keep going. Even when things got hard, it was nice to go to a class that I found interesting and I could be passionate about. I was presented with so many opportunities, not only to work but to travel. I competed in numerous competitions for my field, as well as got the opportunities of a lifetime work with colleges and other theater companies. I mean, how often does a kid get the chance to go to London or New York? I am forever grateful for that. Thank you so much for that.
Having such a diverse program on campus, made it easier for me to not only participate in activities, but learn more hands-on consistently. During afterschool programs, I could apply what I learned in class and have a better understanding of what I needed to do and how I could improve.
Presently I am attending college where I am one of three of my major (Stage management) at the University of Evansville.
