In-Person Summer School 2025

Combs High School will be offering in-person summer school classes this summer. Please note the following important details:

• Eligibility: Summer school is available only for students who need to recover credit due to a failed class. It is not available for advancement purposes.
• Cost: $150 per semester
• Format: All classes will be held in person only — no online options are available.
• Transportation: Limited transportation will be provided via community bus stops  only.
• Course Availability: Courses are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. If we do not receive enough registrations for in-person summer courses, the course(s) will be canceled, and a refund will be issued.  Summer school tuition cannot be paid using Tax Credit contributions, as it is considered an academic program rather than an extracurricular activity.  Please see the registration information below to sign up. Classes will be offered in the core areas of English, Math, and Biology.

Students can earn 1.0 credit for in-person instruction

Students may take one semester class (0.5) in each two-week session.

Eligibility and Expectations for In-Person Courses

1. In-Person Instruction is for Credit Recovery only, students that want to accelerate are not eligible.  Students must follow all JO Combs Policies.
2. Students will earn a semester’s worth of credit (0.5 credits) in only 8 Summer School days; attendance is vital to their success and credit recovery. For this reason, In-person students are required to attend daily for this intense, fast-paced summer program designed to cover an entire semester of content in a two-week period. Students must be in attendance each day from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Failure to meet this daily attendance requirement can result in loss of credit. All assignments must be turned in.
3. If your grade falls under 60%, you will be dropped.
4. You will take a final on the last day of class.

Transportation
Bus transportation will be provided at community bus stops

How to Register for In-Person Summer School

1. Please complete the attached Registration form with course selections for Session 1 and/or Session 2.
2. Parents/guardians and students must sign the Registration Form to acknowledge expectations.
3. Completed forms must be turned into Mrs Kelly in the bookstore and signed by her as proof of payment.  Registration and Payment Due Date: Friday May 7, 2025 – no exceptions
